Rebecca's Shower Invites

Well, Since I am on vacation I thought I would share the card that tells what I am doing today. This is the Bridal Shower invite for my sister Rebecca. My other sister, Laura (coolmama76 on SCS) & I worked on these together. It is a pocket card with the shower invite info on the pull out paper (marked please come). We used the flowers from SU Sprinkles on the inside layer, the cuttlebug on the outer layer and the matted Simply Said heart in the corner. Hope you like it.
Materials Used: SU Stamps: Sprinkles & Simply Said; SU Paper: Lavender Lace, Very Vanilla; Lavender Lace Ink; Cuttlebug Embossing folder D'vine Swirl; Ribbon from Michaels.

My Stampin' Spot

Well, this is it. Where all the magic happens. I am going to Chicago for my sister Becky's wedding tomorrow. I figured that since my spot is pretty much as clean as it will ever be I'd take this time to show it to you. The 'desk' is my drawing board from college on top of an antique sewing table. It is not attached in any way, which could be a problem in the future since I have already caught my 1 yr old standing on top of it! The showboxes on the floor (from Michaels) are where my stamp sets are stored. I currently have 24 boxes and they are mostly full. The spice jars, where I keep brads, staples, paperclips, eyelets and other *stuff* is from IKEA. The metal rods (also from IKEA) where my punches are stored I saw in a SU magazine and Loved the idea-Thanks to the brilliant lady that thought to do that! The reason the top one looks so empty is that it was just added earlier this week. I am waiting on my new scallop punch to go up there. ;) I keep cards on my desk and magnetic board (IKEA) because I find it inspiring, especially the ones others have sent me! The clear cups I used my CAD to punch a hole in. I have the kids colored pencils, my pencils, my eyelet setters & Tweezers, dry erase markers and CM cutting blades stored in them. The wire baskets were meant to go on a smaller diameter rod, but I still used them to hold my adhesives, pens for workshops, wheel handles & bone folder. Okay, this is starting to sound like an IKEA ad, I guess I should stop.

I have a few scheduled posts set up for while I'm gone so hopefully you won't miss me too much. I guess I should also mention that the week I get back I am volunteering at Girl Scout camp, but if I am not dead tired I hope to post something new then.

As usual, thanks for stopping by!

Flowery Clock

My stamping area used to have a clock but, it was replaced with a Winnie the Pooh poster.
*Have I mentioned that my stamping space is the dinning room part of an open living room/dinning area? The kids' play area is the living room part, or as it is now known, 'The Little People Room'.*
Well I really *need* a clock, so while at IKEA getting another bar to put my punches on ;) I saw this plain 6" x 6" clock for $4.99 and I couldn't pass it up. Bright & Early this morning I got up and got out my Bold Brights Stampin' Spots and my Friendship Blooms stamp set. (I should mention that I ended up with 2 of this set and took the 3 flowers and mounted them separately...Thanks to my Hubby for cutting the block so that I could double mount the little flowers on one part and the middle flower on its own. I use it a lot now that it has been broken up) Anyway I stamped the leaves in Green Galore and the flowers in Pink Passion & Lovely Lilac. I also swooped the edge with the green. Sorry the picture isn't the best, as usual.
Materials Used: Ikea 6" x 6" clock; SU Craft ink: Lovely Lilac, Pink Passion, & Green Galore; SU Stamp Set: Friendship Booms
Hope you like it & Thanks for stopping by.
*By the way, I love reading comments, so feel free to say something nice. :)

Friendship Flowers

I made this card for a Sale-A-Bration make & take & I still love it. I think Friendship Blooms is one of my all time favorite Sale-A-Bration Sets. I cut the base layer to 4 1/4 x 5 1/2. I then made the next layer 7 1/2 (folded to 3 3/4) x 5". I love to do this when I want the base a dark color. It makes it much easier for the writing on the inside to show up.

Have a Great Weekend!
Materials Used: SU Stamp Set: Friendship Blooms; SU Paper: Lovely Lilac, Green Galore, Very Vanilla; SU Ink: Lovely Lilac; Other: SU 2 way glue pen, dazzling diamond glitter, 1/4" Very Vanilla Grosgrain ribbon

Big Brother Card

I thought this 'Little Boys' image was too cute and perfect for a 'Big Brother card'.

I *gasp* actually used my SU markers to color the image. *I rarely color since I am so lazy! ;) * I was so excited about the pocket card tutorial at SCS that I used it for this card. I had a *slight* accident and trimmed the flap part, but I used the patterned paper to help keep it together.

Material Used: SU 'Little Boys'; SU Markers; SU Brilliant Blue card stock, Provo Craft Slab IV patterned paper.
*OOPS!* I meant to schedule this for when I am gone. Oh Well, I guess you get an extra card now instead.

One Sweet Card

This is the card that we made at my SU Retirement Party yesterday. I have an earlier version posted in my SCS Gallery. I like the pixie pink butterflies better than the original Pretty in Pink. I used the Scallop Circle Punch for the Very Vanilla and Chocolate Chip and offset them. I like how it turned out. The butterflies on the lower half are from the SU Sprinkles Set. Hope you like it as much as I do. (FYI the base paper is 11 X 4 1/4 so it opens at the top. :) )
Materials Used: SU Stamp Sets: Sweet Shapes, Sprinkles, Much Appreciated; Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pixie Pink; Punches: 1 3/8" Circle Punch, Scallop Circle Punch

Spring Cards

Well, Splitcoaststampers is a big inspiration in my stamping. This weeks weekly inkling had a tutorial for Spring Cards and I just couldn't resist.
I also have been dying to paper piece the rocket from SU's Pun Fun set so I combined the 2 and here it is. The rocket is paper pieced using SU's designer Series 6x6 slab (the retired one...can't remember what color at the moment). I popped the top of the rocket out from the page using SU dimensionals and although you can't tell from the photo, I used my versamark ink pad to stamp the dots form Polka Dot & Paisley on the bottom *the part parallel to the table* and on the orange square behind the rocket. My original was the one on the right and measures 5 1/4" square when folded-5 1/4" x 10 1/2" base piece. For the second on I used a smaller 4 1/4" x 8 1/2" base piece so it folds to 4 1/4" square. I really like the smaller version. After doing the second on I went back to the bigger card and added a piece of orange with blackened edges. The original bigger card along with another smaller card is going in my Splitcoaststampers (SCS from now on) gallery if you are interested.
Materials Used: SU Paper: Designer paper, Textured Glorious Green, Only Orange, Basic Black; SU Stamps: Pun Fun, Polka Dots & Paisley, Birthday Whimsey; Ink: Versamark, Markers-Only Orange, Basic Black, Glorious Green

Heavenly Kingdom

Okay, Like I said I am still trying to figure out how to take a decent picture of my cards!
This is a sympathy card I sent to friends of ours from college. Sadly, their 1 week old son went to be with the Heavenly Father and this is what I came up with. I didn't want a depressing card, because the situation is sad enough for me. I wanted a card that conveyed my certainty that he was in heaven and happy, even though we are all sad. I hope this card pulled it off.
Materials Used: SU Dreams & Dragons stamp; SU Stampin Pastels; Cuttlebug Spots & Dots embossing folder; SU Ink-Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip; SU Cardstock-Bashful Blue, Whisper White, Creamy Caramel, Chocolate Chip; SU dimensionals

I finally jumped on the bandwagon!

Well, I finally did it. I guess I have been telling Clay that I was thinking about starting a blog. Tonight he looked at me and said, "Why don't you just do it and stop talking about it already?" So here I am. Now just so you know I already typed this up once and I have already lost the post, so wish me luck with this thing.

For the time being this will be a combo family, Stampin blog. If I find I have enough to split it I will. I will start with a few cards I have already made. Those of you that are expert bloggers, please excuse the bad lighting. I will promise to do my best to figure out how to take nicely lit pictures!

This is still a work in progress so please be understanding. ;)
