A Monochromatic Birthday

I made this for a VSN Challenge.

The Challenge was to celebrate your ONE TRUE LOVE by making a monochromatic card. Your card could use several shades of the same color, and one neutral, too. I really like the way this turned out! *wink*

My friend, Karen, was also lucky enough to go on vacation kid-free, and she *loved* the peacocks walking around. *wink*

When I saw these I immediately knew I had to get some photo's for her!

If you look closely at the low building on the right you can see the peacock's tail.

Toulouse, France

I was lucky enough to go with Clay on his last business trip! My parents were nice enough to look after the three kids and I had my first kid free vacation in 3 years! It was blissful.

This was the courtyard of the hotel. It just seems so quant, doesn't it?

Tuesday & Wednesday I spent hours walking around in Toulsouse. I walked from one end of the city to the other-a couple of times. *wink
Clay went with me Monday (after a short nap on my part-I couldn't sleep at all on the plane, but I did get to watch 6 moovies-007 Quantum of Silence, The Changling, Twilight, Transporter 3...is it sad that I can't remember the other 2?) and Thursday.

This fountain was in the same park as the little shack. It was very relaxing!

This is the canal that was a block away from the hotel. I followed it for a long time. It was very relaxing to walk by myself and listen to my mp3 player. I highly recommend it if you can arrange it! *wink

This is the oldest bridge in Toulouse...oddly enough it's name translats to 'new bridge'.

I'll try to get the Paris pictures posted by the beginning of next week.

Maggie's Card

I made this for a VSN Challenge.

This was the Challenge:

Display your LOVE of color and a few of your favorite things in this challenge:

1. Include at least one color from the song: rose, brown, blue, cream, white and copper.

2. Use things from the song: roses, whiskers, kittens, kettles, mittens, ponies, geese, snowflakes, bees, dogs, snowflkes, moons, apples, etc...

3. Tie it up with string! Just put some string, ribbon, yarn, twine, thread, whatever, on your card somewhere.

Clay & I sent this to Maggie so she could get it while we were in France. Unfortunately, they didn't get the mail while we were gone, so she got it when we got back instead!

A Man Card

This is another card from SCS VSN last weekend.

This is the challenge:

To make a card that a MAN would send to any female (wife, girlfriend, mom … even sister, daughter, whatever). Sounds simple enough, right? The catch is you have to follow these rules …1. Color combination: Kraft, Navy, Vanilla (or similar colors if non-SU colors)

2. No ribbon, no primas/flowers (Uh Oh). Feel free to substitute strips of DP or card stock, border punched or pierced – be creative in making faux ribbon. Have those floral punches? Use those to fill that “prima-need”.

3. 3 Brads … no more no less … (Not 4 - not 2)…3 on the whole card.

4. Your stamped image must be from Nature – as in Botanicals – leaves, flowers, trees, etc.
