Birthday Best

Well, it has been too long since I have inked my stamps! They feel neglected, poor things. So today I got a *little* time to play and here is the result. I really like how the layout turned out! This is for a birthday party this afternoon and my first first attempt using stickles. Any helpful hints would be appreciated. It seemd to make the SU marker bleed. *See below for the closeup* The other problem is that on the cupcake top it seemed like the glitter only came out on the left side of the cupcake. I was wondering if I was too impatient and layed it on too think, any thoughts? I am counting on my scs friends to help me out here. See how the yellow is out of the lines? I am not *that* bad of a colorer!
Materials Used: SU Stamp Set: Birthday Best; SU Ink: Lovely Lilac, Pink Passion, Pixie Pink, Yo-yo Yellow; SU Paper: Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac, Pink Pirouette; Other: Cuttlebug embossing folder Happy Birthday; Stickles & SU Dimensionals
This is the card my daughter made for the same birthday party. I love how she used the cuddlebug part as the present package and then she had me make the bow for her. I think it looks really cute. Not bad for a 7 year old. *wink*
I look forward to any helpful suggestions and nice comments you may leave. Have a Great Day!

Heartfelt Flower

The Scheduled posts continue:

I honestly don't remember why I made this card, I think it was for a swap?!? I do still love it though. I used the sticky strip to hold the SU Pink Duo beads. I really liked how it turned out. The flower image was swooped in the pixie pink and layered onto the lovely lilac and gable green. The bottom half was cuttlebugged with the 'bloom dots' folder. I am pretty sure that I used the color spritzer tool with the pixie pink marker on the flower image panel, but it doesn't show well in this picture.

Materials Used: SU Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks; SU Ink: Green Galore, Pixie Pink; SU Paper: Gable Green, Pixie Pink, Lovely Lilac; Other: Bloom Dots Cuttlebug Folder, Sticky Strip, SU Pink Bead Duo.

As Always, thanks for stopping by!

Flowers, Flowers Everywhere

I love this color combo! This was for a SCS Swap, but I wanted to share it here also.

I stamped the big flower in Pixie Pink and cut it out. I used the 1 3/8" Circle Punch on the Gable Green and the Scallop Circle Punch on the Lovely Lilac. I also stuck an eyelet in the center of the flower, although it doesn't show up very well in the photo, and put it on the scallop circle with a dimensional. I stamped the 'Little Flowers' in Gable Green, Lovely Lilac and Pixie Pink. I then stippled the panel with Gable green and mounted it on Green Galore. I am not yet addicted to ribbon, so I use paper strips instead to break up the panel. Hope you like it.

Materials Used: SU Stamp Sets: Big Flowers, Little Flowers, SU Paper: Lovely Lilac, Pixie Pink, Gable Green, Green Galore, Whisper White; Other: SU Stipple Brush, Eyelet, SU Dimensional

Thanks for stopping by today. This should be my last scheduled post. I have Girl Scout day camp this week, so I may not make anything until next week. Thanks for bearing with me during my long break.

I couldn't resist using the Treat Yourself set again. Since it is almost my anniversary, I used it to make a card for my hubby. Trying to be funny I stamped all the candy in green and put the 'm' for M & M's. *Do you think he will get/like the humor?* Since I am still at my sisters I had access to her stuff again. I used a watercolor brush and the ink pad squish to water color the machine. *I usually just use the SU blender pens, but thought I'd try something new. I hated the first one, but by the second attempt I decided that I really *do* like the watercolor brush. Something else to be added to my wish list. Once again, I think the saying is just perfect. Thanks for stopping in. Remember, I love reading comments!

Materials used: SU Ink: Glorious Green, Basic Brown, Real Red, Sahara Sand; SU Stamps: Weathered, Treat Yourself; SU Parper: Whisper White, Real Red, Basic Black

Family Post

When I first set up, I promised to add family stuff. Here are some photo's from when we went to Grant's Farm in St. Louis. We had a fun time and got to go with both Grandma's and Grandpa P. as well as an Aunt & some cousins. The kids had a great time. The weather was a little damp, but it didn't seem to bother us too much. (At least it was cool)This is where you can usually find Seth when we are out...in the Baby Hawk, sucking his thumb and (you can't see it here, but he was ) grabbing my hair.
If you know me at all, this is the last picture you would ever expect to see. I *really, really* dislike snakes!
And if you know Maggie at all this is exactly where you would expect to find her. She loves animals, especially the cute & cuddly variety. I on the other hand, love *other* peoples animals. I just don't have it in me to take care of anything else!
I couldn't resist this picture of Ethan feeding the goats. He enjoyed it so much. Seth fed them from outside the pen and would drop the bottle as soon as the goat started eating. It was a fun time.

Birthday Wishes

I am at my sisters house and got to use her stamp stuff to create this fun birthday card for a friend. I really like how the cupcake turned out. I stamped the wrapper on close to cocoa and the top on whisper white. In general I do not like the way it looks when I color with markers, but I love the way the cupcake top turned out! Maybe I'll use my markers more now. You can't tell in the picture, but I used the yellow gelly roll pen on the candle for a sparkly flame and stamped the strip with the hearts from the Sprinkles set. I love this saying and the set for that matter. I always looked at it in the catalog and wondered if I would use it. Good thing my sister shares. ;)

Materials Used: SU Paper: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White; SU Ink: Pretty in Pink, Close to Cocoa, Yoyo Yellow, Lovely Lilac; SU Stamps: Sprinkles, Treat Yourself; Other: Gelly Roll pens

Since yesterday was my nephews birthday, I decided to schedule this card for today. I made this in May for his brothers birthday. My Nephew Loves dogs and I was eager to try a gate type card. I love this retired set and usually end up using it for his birthday cards. *I'm really hoping for a good dog set in the new SU Catalog!*

I used crystall effects on the "Dog" sign, the dogs nose and his bowl. I think it looks cuter IRL, the camera didn't seem to like it.
